Laboratory Furniture
Laboratory furniture is furniture that is specially designed for lab usage. There are many types of labs available like the physics lab, chemistry lab, biology lab and so on. All these labs will have different needs. The usual furniture installed in the lab is tables, chairs and racks. Tables are to place the apparatus. Chairs are for the students and the racks are used to store chemicals and some apparatus.
Some of the important things to consider while furnishing a lab is,
• The storage spaces should be biosafety cabinets. These will ensure that the materials are not contaminated.
• The lab chemicals are usually strong, the tables used must be able to withstand the chemical spills as well.
• The worktop should be easily accessible for the students. Sometimes students stand and work. Sometimes they sit and work. The table height must be decided on what kind of procedures will be carried out in the lab.
